GWC Bags Pride of Logistics
GWC (Q.P.S.C.), one of the region’s fastest growing companies, has been awarded the “Pride of Logistics” award at the Logistics Middle East Awards 2021.
This comes after a year in which the logistics sector shone through as a critical infrastructure ensuring the continuity and safety of the region and its economy. As a leading logistics provider in the region, GWC has succeeded in its role providing lean, reliable and global standard logistics solutions.
“We are glad that Logistics Middle East Awards 2021 event organizers ITP have put together such an event highlighting the role the logistics sector has had in a challenging year,” stated GWC Group CEO Mr. Ranjeev Menon on the award.
GWC’s investment in infrastructure coupled with increasingly sophisticated technical and software integrations, ensures that new challenges will be met seamlessly. GWC will expand beyond its over 3 million square meters of logistics footprint and 250,000 pallet locations to meet increasing demand, where most of the supply is shipped through GWC’s network, leveraging the company’s access to two of the largest worldwide freight, supply chain, and express courier networks in the world. It’s fleet of over 1,200 specialized vehicles and 19 strategic locations makes it the number one logistics provider in Qatar.
One such expansion came at the end of 2020, when GWC inaugurated its regional logistics hub and UPS Customer Center in the Ras Bufontas Free Zone, becoming the first logistics provider to operate out of the first free zone in Qatar, and underlining its commitment to improving the logistics and business infrastructure of the nation.
GWC was announced as the first Regional Supporter and Official Logistics Provider for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. This is a proud moment for all GWC employees and stakeholders and a commitment to doing our part in supporting this national objective; showcasing to the world what the capabilities of Qatar as the host nation for the largest sporting event in the planet.
“We take this national mandate very seriously, and our highly developed logistics infrastructure and host of services have fully prepared us for this undertaking, and we continue to develop and improve in order to ensure the successful actualization of another milestone of Qatar’s national vision,” stated Mr. Menon.
The Logistics Middle East Awards are a celebration of excellence for the great and the good of the supply chain and logistics communities in the Middle East. The awards follow the traditions of rewarding industry success set by the Supply Chain & Transport Awards (SCATA), which were first held in 2007, and of which GWC won two awards in 2011 and 2012.
