GWC Celebrates World Quality Day 2019
GWC, the leading logistics provider in the State of Qatar, celebrated World Quality Day 2019 at one of the company’s Warehouses in Logistics Village Qatar (LVQ). The event came to recognise the achievements accomplished by the Company’s employees from all its departments.
The event included speeches by safety and quality directors and was attended by members of the senior management team, followed by several edutainment activities that highlighted the company’s commitment to quality, as well as awards distribution for high achievers.
Commenting on the occasion, Group CEO Mr. Ranjeev Menon stated: “GWC approaches all its operations and interactions with a sense of purpose – to set a world-class standard in logistics operations, and support Qatar in its vision of becoming a sustainable and diverse economy. This sense of purpose is felt from the top-down and across the entire scope of our offerings, and it starts with our commitment to quality, health, safety and environment throughout our facilities, operations and solutions.”
World Quality Day 2019 is part of a series of events carried by the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and its sister organization The International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA), which celebrate 100 years in 2019 of promoting the value of using management systems to control business risk and contribute value. Quality management has made significant contributions to advancements in healthcare, manufacturing, construction, energy, defence and transportation.
Since its establishment, the company GWC has pro-actively initiated acquiring ISO certifications based on its belief in the importance of implementing the highest standards of quality across all its service offerings. Today, the company holds five management system standards, which are ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Management System (QMS), ISO 14001:2015 – Environmental Management System (EMS), ISO 45001:2018 – Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS), ISO 22000:2018 – Food Safety Management System (FSMS), and ISO 27001:2013 – Information Security Management System (ISMS), all of which are governed by the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS).
