GWC Scores Resounding Victory in Qatar Gas Al-Khor Community Basketball Tournament
Let us give a big round of applause to our colleagues who represented GWC at the Qatar Gas Al Khor Community basketball tournament, rising the ranks and bringing home the tournament trophy.
This is the second year back-to-back that GWC has brought home the trophy in the tournament’s three year history. Through the values of teamwork and being goal-oriented, which are intricate to all our GWC team members, our team achieved a decisive victory in the final match against the Al-Khor Community, scoring an astounding 84 points to Al-Khor’s fighting efforts which brought them 73 points.
We would like to thank the team mates individually for their contributions: Joseph Salazar, Rey Olmos, Errol Ituriaga, Rodel Romero, Darryl Crisostomo, Ogie Landicho, Vergil Lacambra, John Paul Aranas, Kurt Fiel, Mac Gomez, Ronfo Bigkas, Jason Matney, M. Rodriguez. Special consideration goes to Jurassic Umenita, who blazed through the tournament, scoring the most points overall and winning the 3-point-shot shoot-out, and beat out all contenders by earning the tournament’s “Most Valuable Player” title. Strong players need strong leaders, and we would therefore also like to thank their coach Arnel Yango and the team manager Danilo Son, whose vision and dedication guided the team to victory and brought home the cup.
“Nothing emphasizes teamwork and group achievement as much as organized sports such as basketball,” says Danilo. “We invite everyone to try out and come support our team in the upcoming tournaments in Autumn.”
