Honour for GWC at Global Best Practices Awards
Gulf Warehousing Company (GWC) was recently honoured at the Global Best Practices Awards by international business consultancy Frost and Sullivan.
GWC bagged the Qatar Domestic Logistics Service Provider of the Year 2013 award in recognition of its efforts to remain a crucial element in the country’s logistics and supply chain infrastructure. The award ceremony held at the GWC headquarters in Doha was attended by senior officials such as managing director, board member and acting CEO Abdulaziz Zeid al-Taleb, chief operations officer Nader Hakim, chief projects officer Shebl El-Khayatt and head of public relations Abdulaziz Mohamed al-Sahlawi, among others. The awards were given away by the managing director of Frost and Sullivan (Middle East, North Africa and South Asia) YS Shashidhar.
The Frost and Sullivan Global Best Practices Awards have a long-standing history internationally, while the regional edition of the awards have been given in the last four years since the opening of the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia offices in 2008 with headquarters in Dubai.
The awards committee reviews nominees based on their performance, standing in the market and customer reviews. “GWC stood out particularly in its field from a branding perspective, strong market reputation and high customer ratings, making it the obvious choice for the award,” said Shashidhar. “The award symbolises not only our commitment to providing world-class services to the country, but also our continuing efforts to further develop and upgrade these services regionally and internationally,” said al-Taleb.
