QAFAC and GWC sign Warehousing Agreement
Qatar Fuel Additives Company (QAFAC) and the Gulf Warehousing Company (GWC) have signed an agreement whereby GWC is contracted to handle QAFAC’s offsite storage of chemicals and general cargo for 3 years. The agreement also includes scope for document storage and records management services.
“We are delighted to have been awarded this contract after our competitive bid. GWC has been providing QAFAC with several logistics services and the addition of warehousing will strengthen the partnership of the two companies. GWC constantly strives to add value to our customers by providing efficient and cost-effective supply chain solutions”, said Abdulaziz Al Taleb, Managing Director, Board member and Acting Group CEO of GWC.
Under this agreement, QAFAC’s offsite storage will be managed at GWC’s new warehousing facilities at Mesaieed, which were conceptualized and developed to service Messaieed Industrial City (MIC) companies.
“Our new facilities at MIC have been equipped with the latest in-rack sprinkler systems, as well as wireless coverage within the warehouses for full Radio-frequency (paperless) operations. These warehouses are also equipped with specialized camera-mounted forklifts for maximum safety, and a team which is fully trained in HSE and dangerous goods operations”, said Nader Hakim, COO of GWC.
